There was never another option when it came to choosing our builders. We had previously built with Pycon in 2016 and the positive experience made the choice a ‘without question’ one. Pycon is a step above in all aspects; from planning, design and customisation, we were supported and guided the whole way.
A locally owned company with the security of long standing tradies and connections made for another extremely smooth build process. Quality inclusions and finishes were important to us and the finer details mattered. Pycon delivered on all of these areas and we could not be more proud of the wonderful home they created for us!

What was your favourite part of the building process?
With two young children, they were excited to see the progress and insisted that we did a ‘drive by’ every single day! The nice thing was that something seemed to be happening and progressing all of the time. It was very evident that Pycon were different from the other builders.
We saw other homes (being built by other companies) start before us and they are still being worked on now, some staying dormant for weeks and months at a time. Pycon honoured all timelines that were outlined on their website. We could always see our home being built on schedule with no delays.
Did anything surprise you during the construction phase?
We were so blessed to have great weather for the duration of our build. Delivering a beautiful house to us months ahead of the proposed end date (29 weeks - 25 weeks if you don’t include the Christmas closure period), we are once again bursting with praise for this wonderful business.
How did you decide on the design and layout of your new home?
Although our block was the largest in Stage Seven release at 727m2, we had quite a unique shape block with a very small road frontage and six different fence line neighbours. To make the best use of the block space, we wanted to ‘hug’ the left hand side boundary to make the biggest possible play area and backyard for the children. We started with a base plan and Belina helped us bring our hopes and dreams into a reality. We made so many customisations so that every aspect of the house was exactly how we wanted it. We added room to each of the bedrooms and also added an additional study.

What features or amenities are you most excited about in your new home?
We are absolutely in love with the kitchen and walk in pantry. We knew this space would be great when we were planning it, but seeing it in real life just added to our excitement. We have so much storage space and a very functional area. We also love the open plan area that looks out over the pool and backyard.
Did you work with any specific contractors that you would recommend?
We have always been impressed with the contractors that Pycon use. Staff at Color Tiles with Style,
Floorworld, Reece Plumbing were all great and Cindy from Brett Hoy Electrical was amazing! It was always evident that the inclusions that Pycon allowed for in the build were of a much higher standard than the ‘basic’ range. After the build, we added a pool to the block. Narellan Pools (Jason) and Mid Coast Glass (Guy) were great with the installation. We also had two different landscaping companies help with the installation of the turf. Scotty from Down 2 Earth Landscaping went above and beyond to help ensure we were as happy with the outside as we were the inside of the house.
What advice would you give to others who are considering building their own home?
Take the time to think carefully about what matters most to you. Think about how you are going to use each of the spaces. Never be afraid to come prepared with your own ideas, staff at Pycon always did everything they could to help us bring all of our dreams into reality. The more planning you can do early on, the more accurate your final pricing will be. We never had any financial surprises along the way. If you are using other builders, ensure you check your inclusions before signing the contract. This was never a concern for us with Pycon, but we have friends that built with other builders and were always getting additional costings and having their budgets ‘blow out’.
Was there anything that you learnt along the way that you would do differently?
Honestly, we wouldn’t change a thing! We feel we were so well looked after by all of the staff at Pycon and everything we asked for has been delivered on. We have no hesitation in recommending Pycon to anyone that wants a beautiful home, delivered on schedule, with everything that you have asked for!
